DoT and TSDSI to sign MoU; Minister to confer OTC Awards and release new TSDSI Standard and Technical Reports on concluding day of 9th edition of TTDD 2026

 

The Union Minister of Communications and Minister of Development of North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, will grace the Valedictory Session of the 9th edition of the TSDSI Tech Deep Dive (TTDD) 2026 Conference on July 10, 2026, organised by the Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI), at Hotel Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.

The four-day conference, being held from July 7 to 10, 2026 under the theme “Shaping Next Decade of Telecommunications: 6G Standards, Systems and Cross-Sector Synergies,” has brought together stakeholders from government, industry, academia and global standards bodies to deliberate on 6G standardisation. The concluding day’s proceedings will also be addressed by Shri Satish Jamadagni, Chair, TSDSI, alongside Shri AK Mittal, Director General, TSDSI.

During the Valedictory Session, the Union Minister will confer the TSDSI Outstanding Technical Contributions (OTC) Awards for FY 2025-26, recognising individuals from TSDSI member organisations for their contributions to standards and technical activities during the year.

The Minister will also release a new TSDSI Standard, “Multi-User Semi-Autonomous Telerobotics – QoS Aspects,” along with two Technical Reports: “SDN-Based Optical Network for QKD: Secure and Adaptive Architecture” and “AI-Supported Use Cases in the Agriculture Domain – Plant Leaf Disease Identification.”

In a step to strengthen India’s role in global telecom standardisation, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) is scheduled to be exchanged between the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and TSDSI in the Minister’s presence. The MoU provides for financial support from DoT for the FY 2026-27 to TSDSI towards Global SDOs membership fee and support to startups and MSMEs towards TSDSI membership fee, 3GPP membership fee. Financial support will also include hosting of global SDOs’ meetings (3GPP, oneM2M) in India.

The programme will also include a session on “WRC-27 at Our Doorsteps: Perspectives on IMT Spectrum Priorities” and a “Partner Perspectives on the Conference Theme” session bringing together representatives of GSMA, ETSI, ARIB, TTC, TTA, 6G Brasil, the Broadband India Forum and the Bharat 6G Alliance, reflecting the international dimension of India’s 6G standardisation efforts.

The conference’s six technical sessions, held online from July 7 to 9, 2026 covered 6G architecture, AI-native networks, security and trust, non-terrestrial connectivity, priority verticals and open interoperable systems.
