Announcing its second quarter results, Telenor has said that its Indian arm, Uninor?s revenue has increased by 32 per cent, from the first quarter, due to strong subscriber growth and stable ARPUs.

Uninor?s total EBITDA loss was lower than previous quarter by NOK 54 million due to increased gross margins. Capex in the quarter was NOK 186 million and at the end of second quarter, the total number of active sites stood at 26,623.

Uninor has also reduced capex from 1 ? 1.5 billion NOK to 1 billion NOK and EBITDA loss of NOK 4 Billion has been maintained. Uninor plans to focus on being a low cost operator in India, by further improving efficiencies in distribution, network management and energy consumption.
