Uninor’s plans to become a pan-Indian player have hit a roadblock with DoT deciding not to allocate further 2G spectrum till the government finalises a new allotment method. The operator is awaiting spectrum allotment in four circles –? Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and the Northeast. Moreover, the defence forces are yet to release spectrum in these four circles. Telenor, the parent company, has consequently revised its investments in India in 2010-11 from Rs 2.5 billion-Rs 3.5 billion to Rs 2 billion-Rs 2.5 billion. The company has also revised its expected capex-to-sales ratio downwards from 14-16 per cent of revenues to 13-14 per cent.
