After achieving break-even in Gujarat, Uninor is now taking several initiatives to foray into the circle?s rural markets, say news reports. In the first phase, the operator is targeting towns and villages with a population of less than 10,000.
As part of the same, the operator has launched the ?Gaam No Faydo, Uninor No Vaydo” campaign. In terms of network expansion, it has reportedly added 321 network sites in rural Gujarat. With this, it currently has over 1,476 network sites in the circle?s rural areas.
Further, plans to expand its retail presence are on the anvil. The operator currently has over 170 Uninor Express stores across the state and plans to increase this to 16,000.
