According to data released by the operators, the average revenue per user (ARPU) of Uninor, S Tel, Videocon and Etisalat DB, stood between Rs 8.50 and Rs 39 in the January-March quarter. Uninor?s ARPU was Rs 39, Videocon?s was Rs 8.50, Etisalat DB?s ARPU was Rs 26.75, while STel?s was Rs 25.99.

These companies have already invested Rs 130 billion. Uninor operates in 13 circles, S-Tel in five, Etisalat-DB in 15 and Videocon in 13 circles.

Meanwhile, GSM operators (excluding Tata Teleservices Limited and Reliance Communications) saw revenues increase by 2.51 per cent to Rs 166.50 billion in January-March over the previous quarter. Their ARPU, however, fell by 6.85 per cent.
