UK-based telecom operator BT Group plans to launch a com-mercial fixed telephony service in Brazil in March 2010. The services will be provided through BT Global Services and the focus initially will be on the corporate segment. BT Brasil, which holds a licence to provide nationwide telecom services, will utilise the NGN infrastructure provided by domestic equipment manufacturer Tropico to offer the new service. The service will initially be available in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba and will then be expanded to other cities across the country, depending on demand.
