Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) is considering offering Wi-Fi services for the 100 Smart Cities project of the government. In this regard, the telecom operator is currently in talks with various government departments, which are involved in the implementation of the Smart Cities project.

The company claims that it has been a part of some of the Wi-Fi service trials undertaken by the state governments for the project. TTSL believes that the internet and broadband connectivity will be essential for developing smart cities and Wi-Fi is one of the technologies for providing these services across large areas.

TTSL launched its Wi-Fi business in 2013 and now has presence in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad.
