TTSL has grabbed 40 per cent of the mobile subscriber additions in Delhi and the National Capital Region in the past three months. It is now awaiting government approval to roll out services in Jammu & Kashmir and the Northeast. The company attributes its growth to better leveraging of its retail network, a variety of billing plans and recently launched handsets. Separately, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited has disconnected 32,000 phones between end-April and August, citing dissatisfactory verification details as the cause. This accounts for about 26 per cent of the company’s new connections in roughly the same time-span.

Meanwhile, the company is planning to invest Rs 5 billion to increase its subscriber base from the present 2.1 million to over 3 million by the year-end.
