Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) and Aircel have cancelled their agreement to offer 3G services in each other’s circles. This comes in the wake of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) terming such agreements as illegal on grounds that it is tantamount to spectrum sharing.

The two operators had entered into an intra-circle roaming agreement, under which Aircel began offering 3G services even in those circles where it did not have spectrum.

Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar and Idea Cellular had also entered into similar roaming agreements but have not eliminated the contract so far.
