Industry estimates suggest India’s sector is witnessing a significant skill gap, especially in areas like 5G, cloud computing, internet of thing (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI), and the scenario is projected to worsen in the coming years if not addressed carefully. A major reason for the skills gap is the mismatch between what students learn and what the industry actually needs. According to a report by the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC), only about 40% of Indian computer science, IT, and math graduates are ready for tech jobs. This highlights the pressing need for focused reskilling, upskilling, and stronger ties between academia and industry to develop job-ready talent. To strengthen India’s skilling ecosystem and empower the next-generation telecom workforce, the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) has joined hands with the India Didactics Association (IDA).This partnership aims to drive impactful workforce development, promote future-ready skills among India’s youth, and bridge the demand-supply gap in the rapidly evolving telecom industry through various initiatives.

As a step towards this collaboration, TSSC marks its participation and presence at DIDAC Skills 2025, Asia’s first exhibition and conference dedicated to skilling. This participation is a significant step towards realizing its vision for a skilled and future-ready telecom workforce. DIDAC Skills 2025 will serve as a unified platform where industry leaders, policymakers, educators, and employers come together to address critical workforce challenges and opportunities. The event will feature engaging conferences, hands-on skill workshops, live demonstrations, industry-led challenges, and unique Skill Challenges and Demonstrations to immerse participants in real-world learning experiences.

Commenting on the announcement, Gaurav Sood, chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director, Messe Stuttgart India (subsidiary of Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH & Co. KG), said, “DIDAC Skills 2025 is designed to be a transformative catalyst for India’s skilling landscape. By partnering with TSSC, we are strengthening our commitment to fostering industry-ready talent and creating new avenues for collaboration between key stakeholders in the telecom sector. This partnership exemplifies our vision to bridge skill gaps and empower India’s workforce for the future.”

Meanwhile, Aditya Gupta, CEO, India Didactics Association, said, “Our collaboration with the TTSC marks a crucial step toward bridging India’s telecom skill gap with real-world, industry-driven learning. At IDA and Didac Skills 2025, we believe that skilling must move beyond classrooms to create meaningful career pathways and future-ready talent. Together with TSSC, we are aligning education, technology, and opportunity, empowering India’s youth to lead the next wave of innovation in a digitally connected world.”
