The Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI) is hosting meetings of the service and system aspects (SA) and core network and terminals (CT) working groups of 3rd Generation Partnership Project in Goa from February 9-13, 2026.

Approximately 800 delegates representing 240 companies from over 55 countries are expected to attend these meetings that include SA#1 to SA#6, and CT#1, CT#3 and CT#4 working groups. The discussions are expected to focus on advancing ongoing work under 3GPP 5G-Advanced and initiating technical studies for 6G as a part of release 20. 6G study items will form a critical foundation for defining 6G specifications starting with Release 21.

TSDSI has been bringing 3GPP meetings to India regularly in its endeavour to enable domestic innovators by reducing their logistical and resource barriers for participation and contribution in development of global mobile specifications that are currently focussed on 5G Advanced and 6G.

TSDSI thanked Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for their continued support in hosting the meetings, by way of assisting in securing the necessary approvals for travel of the foreign delegates and financial grant for hosting the meetings. TSDSI also acknowledged the support from Ministry of External Affairs and its offices around the world for timely processing of visa requests from the delegates to these meetings. Further, a special thanks to Apple, Keysight and Tejas, who have supported the hosting of these meetings of 3GPP in India.
