The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) has granted a stay order on the Rs 37 billion tax demand made by the Income Tax Department of India for the sale of the operators? call centre business.
Earlier, the Income Tax Department had sent the notice to Vodafone Group Plc?s Indian subsidiary Vodafone India. The case relates to the transfer pricing order regarding the sale of call centre business to Hutchison Whampoa Properties India Limited and the assignment of call options to Vodafone International Holdings BV.
