The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released its independent drive test (IDT) findings for Gwalior City and Itarsi to Burhanpur Railway Route of Madhya Pradesh licensed service area (LSA) during the month of September 2025. The IDT have been designed to capture real-world mobile network performance across diverse usage environments -urban zones, hotspots, public transport hubs, etc.
TRAI, through its appointed agency, conducted detailed drive tests of 391.6 kilometres (kms) of city test and 4.7 kms of walk test in Gwalior City between September 1 to September 4, 2025 and 252.2 kms of railway route from Itarsi to Burhanpur on September 18, 2025. Technologies evaluated included 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, reflecting the service experience of users across multiple handset capabilities. The findings of IDT have been intimated to all the telecom service providers (TSPs) concerned for further necessary action.
Drive tests were conducted to assess the quality of (like 2G/ 3G/ 4G/ 5G) for voice and data service provided by cellular mobile telephone service providers namely Bharti Airtel Limited (Airtel), Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio), Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi), and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)/ Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), for voice and data services in August 2025.
