TRAI plans to impose penalty on operators who are hoarding spectrum

TRAI is considering imposing a penalty on operators who are hoarding spectrum. The move comes after the regulator sought DoT’s intervention in getting companies to surrender excess spectrum. According to TRAI, Bharti Telenet, Shyam Telecom,HFCL and MTNL had spectrum that was not being used to provide telecom services.
