According to Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) inquiry into Vodafone Idea Limited’s (VIL) RedX premium plan based on a complaint by Reliance Jio was a prima facie finding and will not impact the ongoing enquiry into the matter.
To this end, in its August 4, 2020, announcement, TDSAT did not modify its order observing that the probe in the VIL’s premium plan was prompted by a complaint by Jio.
Earlier, TRAI had sought changed to TDSAT’s July 16, 2020, order, which said that TRAI probed the validity of the premium plan for high-paying postpaid customers due to a complaint filed by Jio on July 8, 2020.
