TRAI has released a consultation paper on the approach for growth, regulatory guidelines, licensing and provisioning of value-added services (VAS) in the country. It has sought stakeholders’ views by June 30, 2008. According to TRAI, there is no coordinated effort to encourage the VAS industry to grow. It also lacks transparency as consumers are not fully aware of the services.
