TRAI has announced that it will soon issue guidelines on mobile number portability (MNP). The regulator has, therefore, asked telecom operators to prepare their networks for rolling out the service. DoT had issued MNP guidelines in August 2008. In March 2009, it selected Syniverse Technologies and Telcordia as the technology providers for the implementation.
