The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has once again extended the deadline for industry stakeholders to submit their comments on 4G services to November 30.

Moreover, the regulator has also extended the timeline for submitting counter comments on its paper, IMT-Advanced Mobile Wireless Broadband Services to December 7, from November 7 earlier.

Prior to this, the regulator had extended the deadline for sending comments and counter comments on the paper to October 31 and November 7, from September 20 and 27 respectively.

On August 19, TRAI had issued a pre-consultation paper on the subject and had asked stakeholders for their comments.

The key issues raised in the consultation paper include suitable spectrum bands, the block size of spectrum to be auctioned, the maximum amount of spectrum permitted to bidder, the eligibility criteria for bidding, roll out obligations, spectrum usage charges, quality of service parameters, security issues, etc.
