The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline for receiving comments and counter-comments on the consultation paper on ‘Review of Quality-of-Service Standards for Access Services (Wireless and Wireline) and Broadband (Wireless and Wireline) Services’ and set it to October 11, 2023 for written comments and October 25, 2023 for counter comments. TRAI had issued the consultation paper on August 18, 2023, initially inviting written comments from stakeholders by September 20, 2023, and counter comments by October 5, 2023.
TRAI had received a letter from the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) on September 6, 2023 requesting for the extension of time for submission of comments on the ground due to the paper being quite comprehensive and detailed from all aspects of business i.e. networks, customer service, IT, billing and record keeping, etc., hence requiring extensive deliberations and more time for submitting the comments.
