The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked all telecom operators including Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Jio to provide data on recharge patterns of prepaid users during the lockdown, and other related information.
The sector regulator has sought a response on the issue within 24 hours.
TRAI has asked for the details from all the operators, including state-owned telecom companies.
As per industry sources, post receiving the responses TRAI will finalise its views on the manner in which prepaid benefits should be extended, given that the lockdown has been extended to May 3, 2020.
TRAI has sought details including the number of subscribers benefited from validity extension and talk time credit which was announced recently and on the number of subscribers unable to recharge during the lockdown.
