Total GSM user base in the country increases to 679 million in July, 2012: COAI

According to the data released by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) the GSM subscriber base in the country reached 679 million by the end of July, 2012.

In June, 2012, the number of GSM subscriber base stood at 677.35 million. Bharti Airtel added 1.5 million new subscribers in the month of July 2012. Vodafone India added 1.2 million subscribers taking its total subscriber base to 155 million.

Idea Cellular added 0.5 million users, taking its total subscriber base to 118 million. Aircel added 0.3 million new subscribers in July 2012.

Uninor lost one million subscribers and its subscriber base at the end of July 2012 stood at 44.49 million. Videocon lost 0.41 million users and its subscriber base at the end of July 2012 stood at 5.16 million.
