The bail applications of five business executives allegedly involved in the 2G spectrum issue have been denied by a Delhi Court. The court has also rejected an interim bail application and all five shall now be taken to Delhi’s Tihar jail.

The five executives include Reliance ADA Group?s managing director Gautam Doshi, senior VPs Surendra Pipara and Hari Nair; Unitech?s managing director, Sanjay Chandra; and Etisalat DB?s director, Vinod Goenka.

In a court order, Judge O.P. Saini said, ?The CBI has expressed its apprehension that accused persons may tamper with the evidence by trying to win over witnesses and that they may also flee from justice in view of the magnitude of the offence. Hence, in my considered opinion, it is not a fit case for bail.?

The executives then appealed to the court for an interim bail to avoid being jailed immediately, but the court has rejected that plea too.

Former telecom minister A Raja, former telecom secretary Siddhartha Behura, Raja’s personal secretary R.K. Chandolia and Swan Telecom?s promoter Shahid Usman Balwa were arrested earlier during investigation in the case and are lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody.
