Toenhance the capacity and coverage of its existing GSM/EDGE network in Bangkok and the central-western, southern and northern regions of Thailand, True Move, a Thai mobile operator, has signed a $10 million expansion contract with Alcatel-Lucent.

Toenhance the capacity and coverage of its existing GSM/EDGE network in Bangkok and the central-western, southern and northern regions of Thailand, True Move, a Thai mobile operator, has signed a $10 million expansion contract with Alcatel-Lucent.

According to the terms of the contract, Alcatel-Lucent will provide a new intelligent network convergent charging platform at the core network, deploying its multi-standard radio access solution including its base station controller platform and the fully flexible TWIN transceiver. Along with the optical multi-service platforms already deployed, Alcatel-Lucent will supply microwave systems that will provide True Move with a solution to aggregate multiple traffic types.
