DoT’s technical arm, the Telecom Engineering Centre, will undertake the project along the lines of countries such as the UK and the US, which have set up such facilities to ensure that external elements do not intrude in their communication networks. The lab will test all foreign telecom network equipment before it is sold to service providers in the country.
