The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is planning to complete the consultation process for its recommendations on 2G spectrum pricing and allocation by July 15, 2010. The operators have been asked to present their views on the issue by June 15, 2010. The regulator does not intend to alter its recommendation on the pricing of spectrum beyond 6.2 MHz, given the scarcity of the resource. Additionally, it wants DoT to refarm 800 MHz and 900 MHz of spectrum that can thereafter be made available to all the operators.
