The Shyam-Sistema joint venture (JV) plans to apply for pan-Indian GSM spectrum under the dual technology licence. The company, which had been allotted start-up CDMA spectrum for 12 circles, is likely to be granted spectrum in a few additional circles by endApril 2008. The JV has chalked out plans to launch pan-Indian CDMA services by end-2008.
