According to Gartner, the Indian public cloud services market is witnessing steady growth. The research firm expects this space to witness 37.5 per cent growth this year, to reach $434 million.
Meanwhile, within this sector, the infrastructure as a service segment, which includes cloud computing, storage and print services, is expected to grow by 41.8 per cent in 2013 to $62.5 million. The business process as a service segment is expected to grow from $67 million in 2013 to $180 million in 2017. Similarly, the software as a service category is expected to grow from $176 million in 2013 to $572 million in 2017.
Going forward, between 2013 and 2017, Indian companies are expected to spend $4.2 billion on cloud services. Of this, $1.8 billion will be spent on software as a service (SaaS).
