According to Gartner, the public cloud services market in India is expected to increase from $326 million in 2012 to $443 million in 2013, registering a growth of 36 per cent.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), including cloud computing, storage and print services, continue to be the fastest-growing segment in India. In 2012 the IaaS segment generated $43.1 million in revenues.  Software as a Service (SaaS) continues to be the largest segment of the cloud services market in India, comprising 36 per cent of the total market in 2012. Gartner expects that $4.2 billion will be spent on cloud services between 2013 and 2017. Of this about $1.6 billion will be spent on SaaS.

According to Gartner, although there is a wide variation between the cloud services market sub-segments, strong demand is expected for all kind of cloud services offerings. Following SaaS the cloud business process services segment BPaaS is the second-largest market segment comprising 23 per cent of the total market in 2012 in India. It is followed by SaaS and cloud advertising services with a market share of 13 per cent and 12 per cent, respectively. Both cloud management and security services have 11 per cent market shared, followed by cloud application infrastructure services as a service PaaS with a market share of 5 per cent, respectively.
