The process of forming an alliance between Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam limited (MTNL), C-DOT and ITI has been put on the fast track.
This alliance is aimed at creating a telecoms ecosystem, where C-DoT will oversee product development, ITI will facilitate system integration and produce telecom gear, which will be purchased and used by BSNL and MTNL.
In this regard, a panel is readying to unveil a potential roadmap for the same. The panel is expected to chalk out a multi-pronged strategy. This includes defining the role of each company in the alliance, ensuring there are no conflicts of interest and chalking out a model for sharing of assets and product procurement.
It is believed that this panel will be assisted by another internal departmental committee, comprising senior executives of member companies. This committee will help to frame guidelines for the main panel.
