The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revised its guidelines for mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services.

According to the revised framework, prospective MVNOs have to first sign an agreement with at least one mobile network operator (MNO) before applying to the PTA for permission to offer services. Moreover, MVNOs will be eligible to sign deals with more than one MNO for providing services. The PTA has also determined the cost of an MVNO licence as $5 million with concessions valid for a 10-year period.
