The number of global users of 3G mobile technology has reportedly reached more than 100 million as of June this year. Analysts further predict that this number will reach 106 million by the end of the second quarter. Users are connected via WCDMA and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO technology on their mobile phones.
Influential carriers like NTT DoCoMo, Hutchison 3G and SK Telecom, and more recently Vodafone and Verizon Wireless have all contributed to the increase in 3G consumers.
