According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), 15.55 million customers opted for mobile number portability (MNP) in July 2011. Of this, Gujarat received the maximum number of requests, at 1.55 million.

The regulator also said that the number of MNP requests increased from 12.98 million in June 2011 to 15.54 million in July 2011.

Gujarat was followed by Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, where 1.26 million and 1.16 million customers requested for the service.
