The Internet Service Providers Association of India has asked DoT to seek a fresh review of TRAI’s recommendations on internet services. TRAI had recommended an entry fee of Rs 2 million for Category A ISPs and Rs 1 million for Category B ISPs. It has also recommended doing away with Category C ISP licences. ISPs have, in turn, demanded the removal of all entry barriers in providing internet telephony, internet protocol television and other related services. This is in addition to an equitable access to spectrum at an affordable price.
