According to Gartner, Inc, the public cloud services market in India is expected to grow from $423 million in 2013 to $550 million in 2014 and reach $1.3 billion in 2017.
The increasing awareness amongst organisations regarding the business benefits and cost efficiencies are the two key growth drivers of this market.
The research firm forecasts that spending on software as a service (SaaS) will reach $218 million in 2014, growing 30.3 per cent from 2013 through 2014. SaaS is the largest overall cloud market segment, followed by infrastructure as a service and business process as a service which is expected to reach $76 million and $73 million in 2014.
