
Tthe GSM Association (GSMA), in collaboration with Microsoft and a group of mobile operators, including Telefonica, AT&T, Vodafone, China Mobile, SingTel and Maxis Communications, will research consumer trends and market potential for notebook PCs containing 3G mobile broadband capabilities. According to the group, there is further potential to expand connectivity in emerging markets. In such areas, fixed line access and mobile networks, upgraded with 3G and HSPA, could become a cost-efficient way to provide broadband internet services.
