The Government of Indonesia has granted Wi-Max broadband licences to eight telecom companies. These are PT Telkom, PT Indosat Mega Media, PT Internux, PT First Media, PT Jasnita Telekomindo, PT Berca Hardayaperkasa, PT Rahajasa Media Internet, and a consortium comprising PT Comtronics Systems and PT Adiwarta Perdania. There were 15 Wi-Max zones on offer, of which the highest reserve prices were for Greater Jakarta and Banten, while the lowest were for Papua and Maluku. The highest bidding prices were offered by First Media (IDR121.2 billion) and Internux (IDR110.03 billion), while Telkom offered the lowest prices ?? IDR755 million for Papua and IDR533 million for Maluku.
