The government completes 53 rounds of bidding on the eighth day of the spectrum auction

At the end of the eighth day of the spectrum auction, the government has received bids worth
Rs 583.32 billion. So far, the government has completed 53 rounds of bidding.

The total bids in the ongoing spectrum auction are about 86 per cent of the total bids received by the government in the 3G spectrum auction in 2010, although in the current round the government is auctioning a higher quantum of spectrum in the 1,800 MHz and the 900 MHz bands. The 3G spectrum auction had net revenues worth Rs 677.18 billion for the government.

At the end of the eighth day of the spectrum auction, the government received total bids worth Rs 347.43 billion and Rs 235.89 billion for the spectrum in the 1,800 MHz and the 900 MHz band, respectively.
