According to a Point Topic study, the global broadband subscriber base will touch 940 million by end-2018.
Of this, the company estimates that the 1 billion subscriber mark will be exceeded within this decade. Meanwhile, by end-2018, the number of broadband users in South and East Asia will register an over 70 per cent increase. This will be on account of significant growth expected in Indonesia and Thailand.
The research firm adds that the Western Europe, Asia-Pacific and North American markets will witness slow growth.
