The Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) on telecom, is scheduled to meet on December 7, 2012 to discuss a roadmap for the second round of spectrum auction, says news reports.
The EGoM headed by P Chidambaram, Minister of Finance will draw up a plan for putting up unsold GSM spectrum, in Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan and Karnataka circles, for auction. It is also expected to take a decision on the reserve price for the spectrum to be sold.
The EGoM will also discuss the best ways to utilise the CDMA spectrum which did not see any bidders in the 2G spectrum auction concluded in November, 2012. Moreover, the EGoM is also expected take a final call on whether it will conduct an auction of 900 MHz band in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata along with 1800 MHz band.
