The CVC has ordered an investigation against some DoT officials who have allegedly been involved in a case pertaining to underreporting of revenues by RCOM. According to documents filed by RCOM with TRAI, the company has paid revenue share on the gross revenue of Rs 158.12 billion stated to have been earned between June 2007 and June 2008. However, on its website, RCOM has shown its revenue earned as Rs 183.32 billion, leading to non-payment of revenue share on Rs 35.2 billion. The CVC order comes within days of DoT sending a letter to RCOM, seeking an explanation on the operator’s alleged move to show its non-voice revenues as those incurred from its internet service operations.
