The C-DoT Alcatel Lucent Research Centre has successfully completed India’s first live Wi-Max field trial on Aircel’s network using the 2.5 GHz band.

The C-DoT Alcatel Lucent Research Centre has successfully complet ed India’s first live Wi-Max field trial on Aircel’s network using the 2.5 GHz band. Alcatel-Lucent is reportedly investing huge sums of money on Wi-Max technology and developing low-cost Wi-Max devices. The technology will initially be taken up by fixed line operators who want to offer wireless broadband services.
