The Bharti Group is planning to launch cellular services under the Airtel brand in major overseas markets. The company is reportedly exploring opportunities to acquire overseas cellular licences to launch mobile services under the Airtel brand in key international telecom markets although it is yet to identify the specific countries. Among its existing foreign shareholding partners are the UK’s Vodafone, the world’s biggest mobile service operator, and Singapore Telecom (SingTel), one of the top mobile service providers in the APAC region.
