The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has sold a tranche of radio spectrum for $11.7 million per MHz to three companies Grameenphone (7.5 MHz), Banglalink (5 MHz) and Aktel (5 MHz).

According to BTRC, these three operators, which account for more than 86 per cent of the total market share, can ensure the highest level of efficiency and capacity to absorb the growing usage of their customer bases.
