Thailand’s DTAC has launched a trial 3G mobile service in the 850 MHz spectrum band in central Bangkok. The network equipment, costing THB100 million, has been supplied and installed by Huawei. The first phase of the trial W-CDMA/HSPA network consists of 18 base stations, with another 18 due to be set up by December 2009.
