Telstra Corporation Limited, an Australian telecommunications and media company, has appointed Upendra Kohli as the new managing director (MD) for its Indian operations. He will be responsible for the development and execution of overall strategies of Telstra for the Indian sub-continent. He shall also be responsible for customer relationships throughout the country. As the MD for Indian operations, he will also work towards biulding relations with all business process outsource (BPO) and IT service providers internationally and work across the company coordinating the various strategic relationships Telstra has in India.
Kohli has more than two decades of experience in IT and telecom sectors and has worked across Asia Pacific and Middle East and Africa (MEA). Prior to the appointment, he had been engaged with Infosys, leading various industrial verticals in the South East Asian and MEA regions. He also played a key role in developing the company?s business in Australia and MEA.
