Tellabs, Incorporated has filed a patent suit against Japan’s Fujitsu and its US subsidiary, Fujitsu Network Communications, Incorporated, in a US district court, alleging that optical communication products manufactured by these companies infringe on Tellabs’ US patent. The products that come under the purview of the lawsuit include reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexing systems and components for optical communications. Fujitsu markets these products under its “Flashwave” brand name. Tellabs has sought both monetary damages and an injunction against Fujitsu’s infringement acts. Tellabs, however, has not revealed specific conditions including the value of the monetary damages.
