Telkom South Africa, the country’s incumbent fixed line and broadband operator, and US-based AT&T have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to interconnect their networks.

Under the agreement, both companies will establish seamless connectivity between their networks so that telecom customers in sub-Saharan Africa can connect more effectively to the global markets. The pact will also allow multinational companies seeking to establish or expand their operations in African countries to obtain IP and mobility services and applications.
