Telenor Pakistan and the Universal Service Fund (USF) have signed a contract worth $251.9 million that will see the former provide basic telephone services in Pakistan’s rural regions.
According to the terms of the agreement, Telenor will roll outboth telephony and data services in the currently unserved areas of Sanghar, Tharparkar Umerkot and Mirpur Khas districts.
This is the second contract between Telenor and the USF. The two had previously signed a similar deal for the Malakand and Bahawalpur regions.
