Norway-based operator Telenor Group has completed the 100 per cent ownership of its Indian subsidiary, Telewings Communications. Telenor acquired the remaining 26 per cent stake was previously from Lakshdeep Investment & Finance.

Telenor had already received approval from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to increase its stake from 74 per cent to 100 per cent.

Telewings Communications operates under the brand name of ?Uninor? and offers its services in six service areas – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh (East) and West circles. The company has over 40 million subscribers across six circles where it operates. It will also launch services in Assam in early 2015.
