According to a recent report by India Ratings and Research, India’s telecom sector will continue on the path of recovery in FY22, amid consolidation that will lead operators to focus on digital transformation of their businesses.

Also, conducive regulatory environment will improve the sector’s performance. India Ratings has maintained a stable outlook for the telecom sector in FY22.

Further, the report added that the second round of consolidation in the industry, which has kicked in, will drive telecom companies from being providers of traditional voice-only services to complete digital solutions for households that would enable customer retention.

The development in the coming quarters will determine whether India’s mobility market will remain a 3+1 player market or will transition to a 2.5+1 player market, and how telcos will respond to the next phase of consolidation in the industry, India Ratings said.
